Mexicans Hate Black People
According to the weekly column, "Ask A Mexican", (absolutely no relation to "Ask This Black Woman"…although I do have a few Mexicans (and half-Mexicans) in my family), it was confirmed that Mexicans DO in fact hate Black people.
In addition to the rampant hate crimes (even murder) by Mexicans in California against Black people, anti-black sentiments from Mexicans can be seen everywhere, from the exclusion of Black immigrant groups in the organizing of pro-immigration rallies to a brand of pastries in Mexico called "Negritos". I was in Mexico last summer (thank god everyone thought I was from Brazil or I would have been strung up like a piñata) and I saw these posters everywhere created by some group (possibly even the Mexican government) alerting Mexican citizens that bigotry would not be tolerated. On the poster there was an old person, a flamboyantly gay person, and a Black person.
Here's the reposting of the "Ask A Mexican" question that affirms Mexican hatred of Blacks.
After asking my dad about black people in Mexico, it almost seemed as if Mexicans don't like speaking about black people in their country. I think it's strange that Mexico, unlike many other Latin American countries, doesn't have a big black community, and the blacks that it does have seem to be shunned. Are us Mexicans racist towards black people?

In a word, sí. But Mexican racism toward negritos is different than the kind practiced by gabachos. Although the Spaniards imported hundreds of thousands of African slaves to Mexico, most of them either died off or jumped into the country's mestizaje with gusto. Mexico's African community has never been particularly large or distinctive as a result—the current count is about 1 percent of Mexico's 105 million souls, and most live in the coastal states of Guerrero and Veracruz. With such a small population in a country where white means might, modern-day Afro-Mexicans don't encounter the type of oppression experienced by blacks in the United States. Really, the worst stings they suffer are mass-media depictions as Sambo-like caricatures—the best example remains Memín Pingüin, a beloved, virtuous comic-book character who looks like a gorilla with a hat. But the times, as Bob Dylan once howled, are cambiando. One of Univisión's current telenovelas, Destilando Amor (Distilling Love), recently featured a subplot involving the daughter of a white-as-snow Mexican family dating an Afro-Mexican. The positive portrayal of the negrito in Destilando Amor means there's hope for Mexicans to become as politically correct as gabachos.
So there is hope for the lessening of anti-Black racism in Mexico, but I really hope that the Mexicans crossing the border to work illegally in this country carry with them the same efforts to overcome their disdain for Black people when they arrive in cities like L.A. or New York.
Yeah everyone hates black people...but who do we hate? or black people don't hate?

I agree, we do hate ourselves and many mexican-Americans hate black people just as much as any redneck. I'm married to a Mexican-American woman and most of her family is accepting and very nice but there are a handfull who hated we were married and asked why was she(my wife) allowed to marry a ni**er. We can't worry about things such as this. We need to focus on our lives, family and community. 90% of the time when you hate someone, the persons or persons you hate have no idea you even dislike them. So it's a wasted, stressfull action. I have a lot more to say but I'll keep it short.

Black and Mexicans need to get along I personally love diversity that is what America beautiful. Blacks need to love themselves so other people can respect them conduct themselves with class and dignity. I'm a Black man proud to be but I don't dislike anyone based on color love is color blind and I love Mexican people the food the culture and have a high respect for their work ethic. We need to love one another and stop judging one another on the color of ones skin but on the content of their character Love will always prevail and ignorance will on hinder progress love u

I live in a community of mexicans and I don't think they are racist towards me but a lot of White People around here are prejudiced against blacks and mexicans.

I must say that Mexicans and many Hispanics are indeed racists towards people who are not white. I do find them to be very prejudiced people, and they have no right to be that way at all. I am a minority born in the US and these Mexicans talk bad about your race behind their back in Spanish, thinking that I would not understand them. They are very very prejudiced indeed and they lack serious education about the world. I would not think it is right to hate them, but hate they way there are.

Mexican Americans must realize that Whites are treating them just like they treated Blacks during and after slavery.They use them and abuse them, give them jobs that poor whites and blacks do not want. Most do not have any benefits because they are not here legally. But..Whites really do not like Mexicans but use them to make millions for their bank accounts. Wake up Mexicans, if you would just unite with Blacks and other minority races, you can get back this country that was stolen from your ancestors many years ago. All most blacks want is decent jobs, housing and to be respected as human beings. Don't think that whites that hire you like you. They despise the ground you walk on. Wise up. And, one more thing..I must give you credit for building your infrastructure right here in their mist. They laugh at you, but you are the ones spending millions of cash in Walmart and other stores. Not all WHites but the majority. Black people, we need to take a stand and go back to the way things were in the 50's and 60's when we stood together to help each other out. Don't you realize the plot of drugs, guns and now aides in our community is killing us off. Wake up my people and get yourself together,. If you are an illegal immigrant than it does not matter how long you have been here. YOU ARE NOT AN AMERICAN!!! I'm sure there are some mexicans who do good jobs but not most. I hired one to do repairs and upgrades on my rental property and all of his work had to be done over. I have heard similar stories from a lot of people. How is the government stealing from illegals? If you are benefiting in anyway from being here illegally than you are the ones stealing from hard working Americans including American Mexicans.

I'm a Mexican immigrant, born and raised in Mexico City. I absolutely respect and like Afro-Americans. In fact my biggest hero is Malcolm X.
The truth is that mexico does NOT hate blacks. In the 60's, many markets/craft stores even sold necklaces and pendants of black raised fists, in support of the black power movement. Mexico in general likes afro-americans (as malcolm prefered to be called), but they don't have experience with them. Racism isn't a big issue in Mexico, but there is a huge separation in classes (high, middle, and low). The fact that in the US there is some tension between latinos and afro-americans, all has to do with gang activity, not with race.

I'm from Mexico raced in a small town called Tambaca in the Mexican state of San Luis Potosi. I can tell you that there is a relatively small number of Blacks in Mexico and I will also tell you that we don't hate black people. From personal experience I will say that if a black person walks along the streets of a small Mexican town(like my hometown) they might stare at you but not in a discriminating way, but in a way that they have never seen a black person before. I was amazed when I arrived to the United States by black people because it was my first encounter with one(not trying to be offensive). This type of extreme curiosity is not common in the U.S. because there is an abundance of races, religions, and people.

There was a documentary featuring Snoop in which he and other ex-gang members discussed the fabled hate between blacks and Mexicans and the resulting violence. They concluded that the current issue is more than likely a media ploy. Considering the public's ill-advised trust in the media, you could run a news report in various forms of media depicting rising violence between two gangs and there would be a gang war that evening. One ex-gang member explained that the media wants us to be confused into thinking that the problem is a "chicken/egg" situation. As long as the populace isn't sure how it all started, the "egg before the chicken" scenario helps to conceal the origins of the motivation for the violence that generates as a result of the news.
I believe we are (the American public) being pitted against each other in efforts to control statistics, the distribution of wealth & economic power and population density by race. I also believe that the greatest purpose for civil sabotage in the media is the continued protection of hegemony in the U.S.

Well I am African American, and I am still in High School. I go to a school that is about 80% mexican-American, and about 1% black. I just wanted to say that I do think that Mexicans are a little racist against everyone that isn't mexican, but I also think that they try to assimilate into the American Culture by sharing the same beliefs as some white people. Because in this time that they are being attacked for being immigrants, I think it makes them feel better if they jump on the White bandwagon and creat tension with black people. Thats just my opinion, and what I observed from going to school with them.

I'm black, and about to marry a mexican woman. So I've been doing a bit of education of mexican social culture. Sad to see and feel the "slow acceptance" on certain ends by certain people, namely of mexican people. Blacks and Latinos have much more in common than they do in conflict.
I don't get where hispanic people can get off being racist- as if white people don't include them in any racist ideas. News flash Latinos: WHITE PEOPLE HATE YOU TOO !!!
My fiancee and I are going to be based out of San Antonio TX to start. Her family is from the Rio Grande Valley. I've let her know, and I've let it be known...that if I feel a non-accepting vibe from her family, WE'RE MOVING NORTH!

This is talking about Mexicans not mexican-americans. If you go to Mexico you'll find little to no black people so don't say anglos hate Mexicans cuz Mexico has whites. Amricans have problems with Illegals because they are illegal and usually of a dark skin-tone, but not all Mexicans look like that. The problem isnt that we hate you its just that you won't find a black person walking down the street in Mexico like you do in the U.S. and different always attracts curiosity.

There are Caucasian, Black, Asian, etc. "Latinos" and many in Mexico are Native American. White Mexicans (and white people from other Spanish and Portuguese speaking countries) are often quite racist, as white people are here, for the same sorts of historical reasons: you have to be against the people whose land you're taking over or the people you're enslaving.

I am of Dominican heritage... there is a strong african/spanish presence within the country... due to slavery.. and the economic super power of the europe.. most belive that being black is second rate.... in america when all you have is televison that shows a protoganist european and a antogonist minority.... you goin to have the impression that anyone who is not white or non-white looking is evil..... In my personal experience I been hated by blacks more than mexicans for I do not look or act like a sterotypical black person....

im a young black woman and i do not hate latinos, but i do hate to see spanish women in black musicians' videos! black girls are beautiful too. i also cannot stand to see a black man with a latino woman. this just remind me how much black men today still rather be with, an make babies with lighter-skinned women.a lot of black girls feel this way. we are beautiful too.we are just dark with extremely curly hair.our features are different, and to me, that's what make us pretty.

I understand how you feel, I’m 24. I’m coming from California and 80% of the black male couples (young and old) are with non black women. 95% of the music videos I see are with non black women. The other 5% are extremely light black women. If I make the mistake of trying to connect with black empowerment groups, I see that they only speak in terms of the “black male struggle.” If we let these types determine our destiny, we would disappear altogether. Don’t be upset about it. Protect your eyes, stop watching tv. And, stop empowering men that humiliate you. It’s time to discover who we are as black women, fight our own battles, and promote our interests first and foremost. Those with enough sense can clearly see that fighting to lift someone else up was the most ridiculous shit we could have ever thought up.

I'm from Cali and I don't see 80% of black male couples with non-black females. I do agree that for a long time now there has been a lot of black males with other races but nothing near 80%. Also, in the past two years I have seen a huge increase in Black females with other races. But I understand how you guys feel also. Even though it really isn't any of our bussiness who black guys are with it does bother most of us. I personally don't get bothered by blacks with other minorities just white. It also bothers me when black people (male/female) say they absolutely do not date other blacks. How self loathing can a person be? As for the videos black men can put any other race they want to in their videos because they ussually depict women in very bad way anyhow.

Let’s be honest with ourselves, we were the organizing force of the civil rights movement, yet we were the very same group that demanded that male speakers be at the fore front. The story hasn’t changed except to show us how badly we understood the equation, “equality.” Black women should speak for black women, and not expect anybody else to do us well just because we do them well. Learn the lesson. Get educated. Get free. And, look out for your interests directly. Maybe, those videos exist to make you less interested in hanging on a black man’s arm. Maybe, black men do what they do to reflect back to us how little we love ourselves. Be grateful for all that, and realize you are the hero in the fairytale. Chicanos have been here since before the USA had all its states. SO many of them are not immigrants at all, Another hyphenated american just as us black folks they have struggled to fight to keep their property and rights in this country by proving their whiteness. That was the only way you could own land... Now, Mexican immigrants whether they want to believe it o not are all part African as well. Yes Colonialism and Colonization and the slave trade has affected us all. Putting blacks and natives on the bottom and making whiter=better. SO yes this all stems from European domination and we at the bottom fight over bread crumbs. So how do we all work together free our colonized minds?

Okay did you know that white, black, asian, indian, hispanic is all made up by people. There is really not a difference of races. We all come from the same race and researchers are discovering this. As much of a shock that it may come to you being white, it is found to be true. I mean think about how both white and black people get darker in the sunlight. It is all in our Melanine. You really should reseach this. Everyone was once a brown or dark race, but due to migration their skin got either lighter or darker. So no actually white skin was not the first skin. Since studies have found that we all came from Africa, when the dark people left their skin got lighter to adjust to the environment. I mean think when you go in the sun you get dark. That is your true color not the white color. Here are some websites that you can find this on. Trust in a mattor of years (hopefully not even that long) everyone will find out these studies and this whole racism thing will end. We all came from the same color. Along with the sites I also have attached the picture of what they would have looked like. The question that worries these finders on how people will accept this. It is a sad thing to think people non black or non brown in coloring would be pissed, but for many it will be the case. Being indenial is never a good thing for you can't get passed anything that way.

umm. not to be against anyone or anything but i have seen a lot of racism of blacks against Mexicans. just recently they r killing mexicans. and i don't know why? they r killing them and taking their money knowing that some Mexicans are illegal the black people rob them knowing that the Mexicans wont go to the cops for fear of being deported. also the black people are robbing the Mexicans because most of the Mexicans that come here illegally to work get their paycheck and since their here illegally they cant get a bank account therefore the illegals always have their money on them so they are easier to rob.

I don't like all blacks, Hispanics, Whites , Asians and others because, a lot of them lies, steals, back stabbers and phonies. But, their are very few that their words are their bond and I respect them for that. Second, The reason why races hate on other races because they are judging by the skin tone, word of mouth, media, movies, and if one individual does something out of the group then that race is no good. I judge people by their character and as an individual because, everybody is not the same. I was told by many people that enter into the United States. They had to watch a film of black people which was negative. Once they finished watching the film. They hated black people in America. So, someone tell me where did the hatred began for different races. When we get cut, shot, hit etc., we all bleed the same blood and it does not matter what skin tone you are. One thing I can say death is not prejudice it doesn't prefer one over another. Ignorant is not knowing. So get to know a person before judging.

My family used to have this friend from Mexico who did not like us at first until she got to know us. Later she told us that when she crossed the boarder the guards at the border warned her and her family about black people and told her all sorts of terrible things about Blacks. She met a lot of other Black people who became friends of hers after living here a few years and she could not understand why the people at the border would lie to them like that. We remained very close friends with them until they moved back to Mexico years later.

It amazes me that in 2008 people still dont have any more sense than this and what amazes me more is when other DARK nations such as hispanic, asian , etc say they hate black people. When will you realize that when you are hispanic or asian YOU ARE NOT WHITE. No matter how much you bleach your hair or marry White people you will never be white. White people laugh about you behind your backs dont you get it they dont care about you they only care about what they can get from you. There are Mexicans who hate black people, but there are also black people who hate mexicans as well. How come this article didn't mention the attacks on Mexican-Americans by African-Americans. To say that Mexicans and Asians are the only ones being racist here would be a lie. EVERY race has people who are racist against another group. You really think that black people dont talk to white people and say racist comments about other groups?

I moved from New Jersey to California in 1999. To my dismay, shortly after moving here, i realized the hatred between black and brown. Growing up back east, I never experienced this sort of racism. Just the opposite. I had friends who were Puerto Rican, Cuban, Brazilian, Portuguese, Peruvian, Colombian, etc. To this day we are still in touch and correspond regularly. I was very hurt to see that it was almost socially unacceptable to have a brown friend.
At what point will we realize that we are basically in the same boat. Our plights are very similar. We should be uplifting one another rather than tearing each other down with words or physical violence.
I am an African-American woman who grew up in schools and churches that were racially mixed. My parents believed then that I should be exposed to every culture possible because that is what the world, especially the United States of America, is about. Not to sound trite, America is a melting pot of every culture and ethnicity.
In December of 2007, I married my husband who is Mexican. Earlier that year, his father became very ill and was on his death bed. I would call, send flowers, anything I could just to bring a little happiness to his Dad. Every time I came over, his dad greeted me with a warm hug and smile. Although he wasn't fluent in English, we still had wonderful conversations.
May 2007 he passed from cancer. My now husband, then told me how much he loved me and told him "don't let her go". My husband continues to say that he was amazed how much his father loved me because his father has ALWAYS hated black people. Couldn't stand them and thought they were lower than the lowest...vile!
I suppose my whole point in telling this story is to bring home the point that ignorance is the cause of hatred. We base each others worth on color! If we all took the time to actually educate ourselves about one another, we will see an array of similarities. It's so much easier to like others rather than hating them. Hate takes up way too much energy. It festers and grows like a cancer. Love/like on the other hand, if we give it a try, is very easy to do.
Let's be more tolerant of one another. Don't judge one race on the actions of a few.

My famaly is from san luis la loma guerrerro mex. and over there there is a lot of black people because slavery also occured in mexico. i'm proud to be mexican and it defines me but i would not diss on any race, because i know what its like not to be acepted by no one because of your mixed race.

I am 100% mexican from mexico yes I am legal now, I'm married to a Half black half puerto rican man I have 8 beautiful children I am 46 years old my oldest son just graduated from college and is engaged to a black girl and people stop saying african american, you can't say that anymore because no one comes straight from africa anymore just say black there are even mixed race black people now who part hispanic like my husband and kids the term african american needs to be buried just like the N word.

wow every one here is trippin... well there is a lot of racism i cant lie, but why does it all HAVE TO COME BACK THIS WAY? i mean really, white poeple (no offense at all)i hear you guys saying "all these mexicans are making this so hard for us." "we are so low in debt, we are loosing." okay let's get serious, if you guys are loosing then who's winning??? because i know for a fact that blacks, mexicans, etc. ARE NOT WINNING!! have you guys ever thought about that? we come here to work and take care of our poeple. wouldn't you guys do that too, if your counrty wasn't doing too good? The white house is trying to take care of illegal immigration and by that they are saying "if the mexicans want to stay here 1.2 have to be deported." okay look at this. 1.2 is not that much. that's probably 7 quiencenaras and 2 freakin weddings!!!!!! that only does a dent to the latino population. honestly i do not have nothing AGIANST NOBODY, I THINK EVERY ONE JUST MAKES A BIG DEAL TO FORGET ABOUT EVERYONE.
